Records Update for Beta Users #
Hi, all! Here is a quick update for early-access beta users.
As indicated elsewhere on the website, Folkbase’s early-access beta users keep the paid features for free forever. Folkbase keeps no account records for people on a free plan (the reason why I created the app), but this created a problem I didn’t realize would be an issue until now: once I turn on billing, I will have no way of knowing who was here for the beta, and I won’t know who my beta users are + who to give the paid features (for free) to.
As of the time of this post, Folkbase will write one line to its key-value storage on Cloudflare (current domain host). This record will be your Google account ID + unique numberstring so beta-users can receive the paid features. There is no email address, name, sheet, or any (other) identifiers kept. I have no idea what you do in the app, nor will I know. This value is written once and never changed afterwards.
I post this only to be up front. Folkbase is built around the idea that I keep as little information as possible in the infrastructure I created. You can see more information under the /privacy page alongside the information on how Folkbase works.
