Folkbase

Pricing for people, not for sales pipelines.

Folkbase is a personal CRM, and all of it is free during beta. No credit card is needed. After beta, the personal app stays free, and a single paid tier adds shared workspaces and Google Calendar sync.

After the beta

One paid tier is planned, yet this may change after beta. Shared workspaces and Calendar sync are free for everyone until then. The real cost will be shown here before billing turns on.

Pro

Pro adds two things. Google Calendar sync, so meetings and events move between Folkbase and your calendar, and shared workspaces, for your coworkers, a campaign, or anyone else you work alongside. One person pays for a workspace and everyone they invite works in it free, however many that is. Everything else in the personal app stays free.

Monthly

A few (honest) answers

Will I get charged automatically when the beta ends?
No. Your free account will stay free always, unless you actively choose to upgrade. You will not be billed without you going through a checkout process.
What happens to my data if I don’t upgrade?
Nothing! It’s all yours. Folkbase never has the ability to hold your data hostage. Everything of yours is in your Google Drive. Further, Folkbase will always allow export on every single plan, including the Free tier.
What happens to my records if Folkbase shuts down?
I do not plan on that, but it is a fair thing to ask before you put a few hundred people into something. Your records are in a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive, so if Folkbase stopped existing tomorrow, you would still have the sheet and everything in it, and you could keep working in Google Sheets directly. There is no rescue operation to run, because there is nothing of yours sitting on my end to lose.
Can my coworkers use it with me?
Yes, in a shared workspace. One person subscribes and everyone they invite works in that workspace free, however many people that turns out to be. There is no per-person charge and no seat limit, so bringing another person in never has to be a budget conversation. A twelve-person organization pays what one person pays.
Will features move out of the free plan later?
Two will, and I would rather say so here than surprise you. The personal app stays free: contacts, touchpoints, notes, tasks, lists, trackers, events, and the network view. When billing turns on, shared workspaces and Google Calendar sync will sit in the paid tier. Calendar sync is free during the beta, so if you are already using it, you keep it. Beta users will also be given the paid features for free, as a thanks. I will not take away what you already have.
Why is it free? What are you hiding?
There is no catch. Folkbase costs very little to run, because your records live in your own Google Drive and I keep no server holding them. Development will be funded by the paid tier, never by ads or by selling your data.
Can I cancel or change plans later?
Yes, once billing is live, you can manage your plan at anytime from the self-serve billing portal.
When will pricing actually be final?
Getting the beta right comes first; after, I can determine and set specific dollar amounts. This page will update with real numbers before billing turns on. Nothing changes for existing beta users without notice.
